YES2009 – The Trip!

0

The Youth Engagement Summit (YES2009) is a platform to create a cadre of engaged, active youth leaders dedicated to making positive changes happen in their communities and in the world. The summit brings together some of the most inspiring Global Change Icons to Kuala Lumpur to share their experiences with you.

How often can you get the co-founder of Twitter, the founder of Live8, a Bollywood star and a plane crash survivor under one roof?

The Youth Engagement Summit 2009 will be held for the first time right here in Malaysia. We’re giving you a chance to join Biz Stone, Sir Bob Geldof, Amitabh Bachchan, Nando Parrado and many more for two amazing days.

On top of that, we’re giving you a free trip – and an experience which may change your life.

DAY 1, Evening – Touchdown @ LCC-T, Sepang

YOUR DESTINATION: MALAYSIA

Kuala Lumpur

You and all the winners from your country will board the plane together… destination? A colorful multi-racial country, snugged comfortably between Thailand and Singapore. From the moment you get off the AirAsia plane, your adventure begins. The sun shines high in the sky and it’s just a little warm, but think about it — you’re representing your country to a historic event!

YOUR HOTEL

Hotel entrance

You’ll be checked into a hotel right in the heart of Kuala Lumpur (or how we locals like to call it ‘KL’). You’ll be joining the rest of the winners, too! 500 Youths from around Southeast Asia, representing their countries!

Mingle with them. Make friends. They want to make a change in their personal lives, their communities, and their country. Who knows where the new friendships may lead?

DAY 2, Night – The sun may set, but the night lives on…

THE NIGHTLIFE

Solaris

The day doesn’t end when the summit ends for the day. KL houses the best night spots in Malaysia — good food and good company. Explore the city with your new friends. From chill-out lounges to live performances, if you still have energy left,  hit the hawker stalls for another meal ~ the best supper of your life.

Our guides will be there to bring you out, and assure you’ll have a blast.

DAY 3, Evening – More of the city

Before packing up to leave in the morning, you’ll have one more night to spend with your new friends — more sightseeing, taste more food and time to soak in all that has happened, and plan your next adventure with the country representatives you’re now intimate with.

“WHAT DO I GET FROM THIS TRIP?”

By the end of the trip, you’ve already been exposed to the many cultures and lifestyle Malaysia has to offer, and of course, met the most amazing bunch of people — and we’re not referring to just the speakers in the summit :)

You’ll be excited, inspired and maybe even cry a little.
